Top 5 tips to being a bodyguard:
1. Stay Aware
You must be ready for the unexpected, keep your eyes open to threats and be on the look out for any possible dangers. A good bodyguard is always in a state of Code Yellow.

2. Be Prepared
Have a plan in case of an emergency, put important contact numbers on speed dial and pack a Go-bag.

3. Flight Over Fight
In a dangerous situation, the best move is to ‘Escape the Kill Zone’. Put as much distance between yourself and the threat. For a bodyguard and his Principal, that is always the safest and most sensible option.

4. Know How To Defend Yourself
A good bodyguard trains in martial arts on a regular basis. He must be able to defend his Principal, as well as himself from physical attack.

5. Learn First Aid
This is perhaps one of the most vital skills a bodyguard can acquire. First Aid could literally save someone’s life – which is the whole purpose of being a bodyguard.
